Creating and manufacturing dichroic glass is a technical and exacting process involving vacuum chambers, electron beams, and various metallic oxides which are bonded or combined with hot glass. Once in the creative hands of the artist, Judy Mowad, fused glass jewelry will begin with a process involving, choosing colors, visualizing designs, cutting, grinding, heating the glass to 1700 degrees and slowly cooling the fused glass art piece down.
